The Renick Performance Mid-Section:
Dims/Spec’s: 304 Stainless, 3 inch cylindrical and 3.5 inch oval.
We started on this project over a year ago. Collectively we knew the LF4 needed a few key things to change the harmonics “mixing chamber” or two, center section in Oval, and two RP resonators. The goals we had in mind was for the customers that wanted to run a Catless set up with the stock mufflers, or wanted to quiet down an aftermarket axle back exhaust and/or refine the sound quality. We added two of our RP inline packed resonators at the end of the mid section at the Y-collector. This creates a smooth deep rich sound and mitigates a great amount of the rasp/vibration.
The system comes with both the driver and passenger side 3 inch pipes that connect to each down pipe (Fitment and mounting is OEM) then connect to the mid section Y Collector as a slip fit. The Y collector runs to one single 3.5 inch oval 304 tube back to second Y Collector with both of the RP resonators. At this location you can either weld each of the stock muffler pipes into the RP Mid-Section or you can install a after market muffler of your choosing.
Why Oval 3.5 inch? Oval tube slows the frequency range we are battling with the LF4. We have used oval in many of our personal cars such as the R35 GTR which has a similar design in its power plant. Combined with the function of the Oval section, having two Y collectors act as “Mixing chambers” for the frequencies and help cancel out negative frequencies.
RP Resonators- Stainless 304, built in-house and designed for each application. These resonators help lower the sound volume, clean the up the tone and eliminate the drone.
