Tapout Tuning is here not only to help ATS-V owners, but also other shops that tune them. We spend a great deal of time on various forums diagnosing issues and acting as a resource for those who may need help with the LF4 platform.
In one particular example we came across a fellow tuner that was having issues with an ATS-V. Their customer’s ATS-V was already making some serious power and they decided they “wanted to go full E85”. After this shop upgraded the LPFP and installed a fuel cam the ATS-V suddenly wouldn’t make more than 6 to 8 psi of boost.
Based on that information we already knew that this ATS-V was starving for fuel. The current setup will only allow for an E47 blend. We then reviewed their data scan and sure enough they were running 60% ethanol content. Second, we saw that their MAT was way too high throughout their pull. That told us their intercooler was not functioning properly.
And the reason as to why they were only reaching 6 to 8 psi of boost? We’ve seen this many times before and made a bet that there was a particular vacuum line left unplugged. And just as we thought, that was the case. Our fellow tuner addressed all these items and that ATS-V was back to making the power it deserved.
