ATS-V Torque Converter Upgrade Now Available!

If you want to make big power out of your ATS-V, Tapout wants to make sure you have all the right parts to keep you going. For those that like to go drag racing, and whose ATS-V is an automatic, the torque converter is going to experience a significant amount of stress if you’ve tuned your car for more power.

Stock ATS-V torque converter fins are not brazed and when you crank things up past 500 whp on a sticky tire you’re asking for trouble with the OEM units. Any kind of shock or spin and hook could create big problems. Our converters begin as brand-new OEM units, which are reworked to raise stall and flash speeds by approximately 1,000 rpm. The converter fins are brazed, and other internals are significantly reinforced. The result is a converter that we expect to handle at least 900 whp. You’ll have full streetability and lockup features are retained which makes this the ideal converter for street and/or strip use.

Check out the Dyno chart below and you can see our most recent dyno numbers on E47 fuel. This is how Scott’s ATS-V will be configured when we hit the track once all the snow melts in Ohio.

Congratulation to Justin Laczynski!

Tapout would like to congratulate Justin Laczynski for his performance at Atco Raceway. This was his first time at the track with this car and hi improved on every pass!

  1. 11.646 @ 118.67 mph
  2. 11.420 @ 118.76 mph
  3. 11.313 @ 119.76 mph

Just ran his fastest time at 11.313 @ 119.76 mph in his 2016 ATS-V sedan A8 with an official race weight of 4,025 pounds. His only weight reduction was to remove his wife’s 25 pound purse. Current modifications include intake, octane booster, exhaust, drag radials and Tapout Remote Tune. Next up in his plans will be a wideband tune to help dial in the perfect WOT air/fuel ratio for his car.

Tapout Tuned ATS-Vs now hold six of the top nine spots in the Modified ATS-V category, and most of them have limited mods installed. Who wants to be next to join the #TapoutTakeover?

Congratulations to Justin Schmidt!

Tapout would like to congratulate Justin Schmidt for setting a new personal best time at Cecil County Dragway last night! Justin ran 11.070 @ 126.99 mph in his 2016 ATS-V sedan M6 with a full race weight of 3,970 pounds. His only modifications include octane booster, drag radials and a Tapout Remote Tune.

Justin’s car is a true daily driver. He does no weight reductions whatsoever and doesn’t change tires at the track. Rumor has it there was even a case of beer in his trunk, but this has not been confirmed. Justin’s new time moves him up to the number one spot in the Modified category. Tapout Tuned Cars Perform in Texas!

Tapout wants to extend congratulations to Michael Franks and Brian Chrestoff for putting down some incredible times at the track this weekend in their ATS-Vs. Texas Motorplex played host to the V-Racing Invitational and Tapout tuned ATS-Vs prevailed again! ATS-V Semi-Stock Class had seven cars and Brian Chrestoff won the division with a best time of 11.112 @ 121.49 mph. ATS-V Pro Modified Class had four cars and Michael Franks had the best time with a 10.868 @ 130.23 mph. Eleven ATS-Vs were at the event in total. Two had Tapout Tunes, and these were the quickest and fastest in their respective classes. If you look at the Official Quarter Mile Rankings, you can see that Tapout Tuned cars now occupy 10 of the top 20 spots. Who wants to be next?
