Rodney’s Blue Belt Performance Package!

Rodney made the trip to the Tapout Tuning Headquarters to have us install our Blue Belt Performance Package. He had already beat his friend with a Camaro SS by one car length, but that wasn’t good enough. He wanted to show his friend, and anyone else for that matter that he is not to be messed with!

On his baseline dyno pull Rodney’s ATS-V made 430 whp and 418 wtq, certainly respectable for stock. We completed his Blue Belt installation and after putting his car back on our dyno his V was putting down 505 whp and 493 wtq! Rodney told us he has been loving his Blue Belt Package and is already thinking about stepping it up to our Purple Belt Package!

We also have to give a shoutout to @Klotz Bros Racing. Rodney asked us about aftermarket rims and we knew just who to recommend. They set him up with a bitchin’ set of MRR FS01s in gloss black, check it out!

Great Turnout for our Tapout Dyno Day!

Our 2021 Dyno Day was a huge success and we want to thank everyone who made it out! It was a day full of tuning, conversation and great friends who all share a passion for the ATS-V! And we had friends and their ATS-Vs drive all the way from Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Ohio!

It was great to have so many ATS-Vs together in one spot because in Ohio you just don’t seem to see them very often. We shared stories, discussed mods, tuning, future plans and had some good ole fashioned BBQ together. It’s amazing the comradery that builds between people working towards a common goal. We all want the ATS-V platform to continue to advance and it’s thanks to this amazing community that we have been able to make this happen!

Chris Tetsos Resets ATS-V World Records!

Our good friend Chris made it to the track again on Friday, and was able to get three passes in before it started raining. He ran 9.46, 9.47 and 9.49 @ 144.2 mph, with all three times beating the previous ATS-V world record! Chris also bestest his previous best 60 to 130 mph Dragy time with a 5.42 second pull!

We receive a constant stream of emails and messages asking about Chris’ mod list and parts pricing. He runs our Brown Belt Performance Package, Tapout remote tune, E85 fuel, some weight reduction and drag wheels and tires. The Brown Belt package hasn’t been officially released yet. It’s made up of our Purple Belt Performance Package, plus Caddy Issues turbochargers, ARP head studs, Tapout camshafts, valve springs and retainers. Purple Belt mods run ~ $4,100, and Brown Belt will most likely cost an additional $8,300. So total cost is approximately $12,400, or less if you already have some mods in place.

We can’t wait to see what Chris and other Tapout Brown Belt Performance Package cars will do once we turn them up all the way and catch some good racing weather later in the season. Join us as we work together to put an ATS-V into the nines by end of this year.

New World Records from Tapout Tuning!

Congratulations to Chris Tetsos – More World Records!

Chris from Ontario has already held the ATS-V 60 to 130 mph record of 5.53 seconds for the last three months. Now he holds the ATS-V eighth and quarter mile records as well!

Chris made five quarter mile passes this weekend at Toronto Motorsports Park, and we turned the boost up a little more with each pass.

48 6.42 @ 109.3 mph 10.03 @ 136.9 mph
40 6.23 @ 111.7 mph 9.75 @ 139.7 mph
40 6.14 @ 113.7 mph 9.61 @ 142.1 mph
38 6.12 @ 114.6 mph 9.56 @ 143.2 mph

At this point there was a storm coming in and they turned off all track electronics due to the threat of lightning after Chris’ fourth pass. He went ahead and made his fifth pass anyways using Dragy, which was proven to be extremely accurate.

5. 40 6.05 @ 115.0 mph 9.45 @ 144.3 mph

Chris did all the installation work himself. Jorge Munoz and Jeremy Stillman also deserve tons of credit for all the excellent guidance and advice they provided remotely, late into the nights.

We are really excited to see what Chris and other Tapout Brown Belt Performance Package cars can do once we turn them up all the way. Follow us as we shoot for eight second quarter mile times later this year. If you’re not a believer yet, just step aside so we can get the job done.
