Randy just drove his CTS V-Sport in from Kentucky for our White Belt Performance Package and custom Dyno tune. Aside from Cadillacs, he’s big into Corvettes and he’s had quite the impressive assortment of them over the years. Clearly, Randy’s no stranger to hot cars and he likes to drive them when he travels for work. The CTS V-Sport was perfect to accomplish that in because it can provide both power and comfort. He understands that these cars (and any performance car for that matter) aren’t meant to sit around. You’ve gotta drive them and drive them hard!

For Randy’s baseline dyno pull with a competitor’s tune, his car put down 350 whp and 376 wtq with a roller coaster air/fuel curve (blue lines on dyno chart). After our White Belt Package install and custom dyno tuning the car put down an impressive 422 whp and 414 wtq (red lines on dyno chart). He had gains close to 100 whp in some parts of the powerband! Now that’s the kind of car you want to drive to work!

Tapout Tuning was proud to once again sponsor the first class Cadillac V-Series Racing Top Gun Invitational.  If you haven’t attended this event, we encourage you to put it on your schedule for next year.  Everyone gets unlimited quarter mile passes on a well prepped track and you can even enter multiple race classes.  The class winners receive really nice plaques, cash, and some other goodies as well!

There were six ATS-Vs who ran ten second quarter mile times in the Texas heat.  Five were Tapout Tuned and one was Hennessey tuned.

Congratulations to Jim Cappiello in his 2016 ATS-V, who won the ATS-V Pro Modified class with his .051 second reaction time!  Jorge Munoz drove 2,000 miles to attend this event and earned the runner up spot.  Michael Franks got runner up in the combined ATS-V | CTS-V Street Racer class.  We would also like to give props to Spencer Beall.  On his first time at the track with his 2018 ATS-V Championship Edition, he ran 12.33 on the stock tune and tires.  We then flashed in a Tapout Tune and he went 11.66, winning the combined ATS-V | CTS-V Daily Driver class!

While other tuners sit at their kitchen tables, we are proud to sponsor all the major events.  We drive cross country to attend these races to show what our tunes can really do.  Instead of making excuses about the drive or the heat, we’re in the pits, making friends, perfecting tunes, and setting records.  Come join us!

It’s always a treat to work on an ATS-V that’s bone stock and hasn’t had any work done to it whatsoever. It reminds us just how far we’ve come with this platform and why we enjoy working on these cars so much.

Paul drove down from Michigan to have us install our complete White Belt Performance Package and got to see just how much of a difference it makes from stock. After installing new spark plugs, our intercooler fill/bleed kit and giving his car a thorough once over it was time for the tuning to begin.

With some time on the Dyno, Paul’s newly Tapout Tuned ATS-V made 472 whp and 481 wtq SAE with stock catalytic converters. The overall gains from the tune only were 60 to 70 whp and wtq in the mid-range! His car produced a beautiful powerband , and after a test drive we could tell Paul was thrilled with the results. David from Illinois decided he wanted to make the fun drive to the Tapout Tuning Headquarters after he purchased and installed our Purple Belt Performance Package. He knew our custom in-house Dyno tune was the final step to making BIG power in his ATS-V. After we spent some time working our magic David’s car made a very impressive 639 whp and 650 wtq using the industry standard SAE correction factor!

Needless to say, David had an even more fun drive home and let us know he’d be back soon for upgraded cams and springs!
