ATS-V Scan Gauges Now Available!

Tapout Tuning is happy to announce that we now offer Aeroforce Interceptor Scan Gauges for your ATS-V! With its nearly unlimited customizable options you can have the perfect scan gauge for your car.

What’s even better is that this gauge is integrated into a factory defroster vent and directly replaces the factory piece  while still allowing air to pass through. All you have to do is pop out the factory vent and replace it with the gauge pod!

The Interceptor Scan Gauge can display more than 50 ATS-V parameters, two at a time (eight using cyclic scan), at an adjustable rate of up to approximately 20 times per second. A 5′ cable is also included with appropriate OBD2 connector. Gauges come with a black bezel with polished silver center ring and a black face as shown. An extra white face is also included and can be easily swapped since the bezel screws on/off. Optional black, polished silver and brushed silver bezels are also available.

Please visit TapoutTuning.com to see further details about this product and all the ways it can enhance your ATS-V driving experience.

Tapout Tune of the Week!

Tapout Tuning offers an extensive remote tune option to accommodate all our clients, anywhere in the world! Rabi from Israel had his 2016 ATS-V tuned by a competitor, and he wasn’t winning the important races. Eager to outperform those who had once left him behind, Rabi began working with Tapout Tuning to make some serious power gains.

Rabi was interested in having his ATS-V tuned for more than one application as he wanted to run both 93-octane fuel and methanol injection with Toluene fuel additive. We were happy to accommodate his needs and we completed individual calibrations for each application. This allowed Rabi the flexibility to run the application he preferred while still maintaining the huge power gains provided by our tune. After taking his car to his local dyno, Rabi was extremely happy to see it was producing 604 whp!

With a Tapout Tune, and a newly awakened monster lurking under the hood, Rabi was ready to face any car that crossed his path. Soon enough a C7 Corvette came to the challenge, and it was no slouch. This C7 was equipped with CAI, MSD, headers, high- flow cats, cat- back exhaust and a solid dyno tune and Rabi told us with much excitement, “I took him by three cars!”. Not long after that he faced a BMW M5 F10 and took him easily by almost four cars! When our Tapout Tunes lead to victories like this we know we’ve done our job. We take great pride in the work we do, and nothing makes us happier than helping you leave your competitors in the dust!

Throwback Thursday!

This week’s Throwback Thursday features Scott Cook’s 2008 Pontiac G8 GT.  Scott purchased the car new and installed a twin turbocharger kit within the first two weeks of ownership, years before any aftermarket fuel systems became available. Why stay stock when you can make more power? This car was the first G8 to run in the tens and had substantially more potential with 723 whp. To accomplish these incredible numbers Scott modified his G8 to run a pair of Mitsubishi turbos mounted at the bottom of the engine compartment with a modified APS kit. These were paired with a twin TiAL 38mm external wastegates regulated by an AEM Tru-boost and routed through an APS intercooler to reduce the risk of detonation. And to polish it off this G8 ran a dual three-inch Magnaflow exhaust for a menacing growl on the street.

To overcome the restrictions of the stock fuel system Scott’s team fabricated a custom return-style system. This included Siemens 60-pound injectors with modified LS7 fuel rails, an Aeromotive pressure regulator along with a pair of Walbro GSS392 inline fuel pumps linked to a custom four-gallon surge tank mounted in the trunk. A large pair of large -6 AN line delivered the high fuel demands to the engine, working in conjunction with a single return line. Put this whole package together and you have one hell of a daily driver, ready for the street or the track. Check out the link below to see Scott’s G8 featured in an article of Super Chevy. Tapout Tune of the Week!

To ensure we are delivering the best customer experience possible, Tapout Tuning offers an extensive remote tune option to accommodate everyone, anywhere in the world!

Brian from Ohio recently had his completely stock 2016 ATS-V A8 tuned by a competitor who claimed the car was making 492 whp. After Tapout Tuning took a look we found that was not the case, along with a host of other issues. To start, Brian’s ATS-V was only making 435 whp, which is just 10 whp more than stock, and 57 whp less than claimed. Second, the competitor had desensitized the knock sensors, so the ECM could no longer protect the engine in case lower octane fuel was ever put in the fuel tank. Third, the competitor had disabled fuel trim learning, which takes away the ECM’s ability to correct air/fuel ratio based on feedback from the factory oxygen sensors. And finally, they didn’t understand how to properly command boost at higher engine speeds, resulting in boost, torque and horsepower curves looking like a roller coaster.

After doing a baseline run we loaded our Tapout Tune into the car. Several dyno pulls and tune adjustments later we were able to produce and increase of 50 whp! Additionally, we were able to reinstate the stock factory ECM safety features so that Brian could have all the fun he wanted without concern. Check out a comparison of the competitor’s tune (blue lines) overlaid with our Tapout Tune (red lines) in the below dyno chart.

Congratulations to Brian Chrestoff!

Brian came to us with a competitive tune that was producing close to stock horsepower.  We added more than one hundred foot-pounds of torque and resolved all his drivability issues.  He took his car to the local quarter mile track last night and broke into the top 25 on his first time ever with this car at the track!  His best time was 11.899 @ 115.50 mph.  Nicely done, Brian!  Your quarter mile rankings incentive check is in the mail. Check out the link below to see what it takes to get on this list!
