Congratulations to Ethan in California!

Yesterday was Ethan’s first time ever racing at the drag strip and his 2016 ATS-V did not disappoint!  He made four passes down Sacramento Raceway’s quarter mile track.  The first one was 10.7x, and the next three were all 10.4x, with a best of 10.41 @ 133.7 mph.  Ethan runs our wildly popular Tapout Tuning Purple Belt Performance Package, which includes all the mods necessary to run E85 with good safety and reliability, plus drag radials.

Ethan is now ranked #13 in the ATS-V quarter mile, #14 in the eighth mile and #23 in the 60 to 130 mph official rankings. Impressive results for a car that can still be daily driven comfortably!

Racer notes: Ethan’s car had zero weight reduction and a half tank of E69 fuel.  Density air was nearly 2,300’, which was worse than any other ATS-V in the official top 40.

New LF4 Head Stud Kit!

We found that the factory head bolts are not able to withstand the cylinder pressures generated in our highest boost applications. Specifically, with our soon to be released Caddy Issues turbos. These will allow us to take you well beyond 30 psi!

Randy’s CTS V-Sport Dyno Tune!

Randy just drove his CTS V-Sport in from Kentucky for our White Belt Performance Package and custom Dyno tune. Aside from Cadillacs, he’s big into Corvettes and he’s had quite the impressive assortment of them over the years. Clearly, Randy’s no stranger to hot cars and he likes to drive them when he travels for work. The CTS V-Sport was perfect to accomplish that in because it can provide both power and comfort. He understands that these cars (and any performance car for that matter) aren’t meant to sit around. You’ve gotta drive them and drive them hard!

For Randy’s baseline dyno pull with a competitor’s tune, his car put down 350 whp and 376 wtq with a roller coaster air/fuel curve (blue lines on dyno chart). After our White Belt Package install and custom dyno tuning the car put down an impressive 422 whp and 414 wtq (red lines on dyno chart). He had gains close to 100 whp in some parts of the powerband! Now that’s the kind of car you want to drive to work!

Alfredo’s ATS-V on the Dyno!

We recently had a customer make the drive to the Tapout Tuning Headquarters from Georgia to resolve  a boost leak his local dealership was unable to diagnose. We took care of that issue right away and then installed our White Belt Performance Package, with intercooler fill/bleed kit, spark plugs and tune.

As it turns out, Alfredo’s intercooler was completely empty and the intercooler pump was totally dead, so we fixed those problems on the spot. It’s extremely common for us to see ATS-Vs that have underfilled or even empty intercoolers, and our Intercooler fill/bleed kit is a great way determine if you have issues or can resolve them all together.

When putting his car on the dyno we saw that an unknown brand of downpipes had been installed. Baseline numbers on the stock tune were 418 whp and 428 wtq. After our tune, the same car produced 502 whp and 511 wtq using SAE correction. After driving home, Alfredo took his car to the drag strip and ran 11.48 @121 mph, on street tires!

Those are some serious gains for a few simple modifications and certainly made the drive from Georgia worth it! So if you’re having issues with your ATS-V we promise we can fix them. And if the only fix you need is more power and speed, we can handle that too!
