Tapout Tune of the Week!

If you live in the Midwest you know that winter’s bitter cold is no fun, even more so if you live further up north. However, if the sun’s out and roads are clear there’s a perfect opportunity for tuning!

Jon from Ontario was ready to begin the process because he wanted to see what his ATS-V was really capable of. A stock car gets boring and a Remote Tune from Tapout is just the trick for spicing things up. After we completed his tune Jon said, “Scott has been nothing short of amazing. Cadillac Attack 2021 was a Tremendous Success!

We were proud to be a repeat sponsor of the Cadillac Attack race event this past weekend, and it turned out to be the most successful weekend of ATS-V racing in history!  We got to hang out with dozens of great people, and everyone had a fantastic time in Orlando, Florida.  Of course nearly every Tapout team member set new personal bests, after driving his/her car to and from the track on all three race days.  Check out some of the results below:

  • Ted Knisely – 9.71 @ 140.2 mph, made twelve nine second passes in a row, set new ATS-V world quarter mile record, first ATS-V to run 140 mph trap speed, first ATS-V to break under 6 seconds 60 to 130 mph, $1,000 winner of the ATS-V bracket race
  • Robbie Kern – 9.89 @ 136.8 mph, $1,000 winner of the ATS-V all out class
  • Jorge Munoz – 10.19 @ 132.9 mph, second place in the ATS-V bracket race, and second place in the ATS-V all out class
  • Heather Swihart – 10.22 @ 133.7 mph, beat her own previous record for fastest female ATS-V, and third place in the ATS-V bracket race
  • Glenn Woods – 10.42 @ 130.4 mph, now the world’s quickest 2018 ATS-V
  • Brian Chrestoff – 10.58 @ 127.4 mph, with over 100,000 miles on his car
  • Kyle Eden – 10.80 @ 126.7 mph
  • Derek Horstmeyer – 11.25 @ 129.0 mph, earning second place in the Manual class
  • Paul Berger – 12.04 @ 119.9 mph

We are working relentlessly to raise the bar for custom tuning, performance parts, customer service and teamwork in the ATS-V community.  Tapout leads the way with three ATS-Vs in the nines, and several more will be coming soon.  Exciting times are here now, and the future is looking bright!

Tapout Tuning New World Record!

We are extremely proud to announce that Teddy Knisely has just set the new world quarter mile record for the Cadillac ATS-V with a very impressive time of 9.717 @ 141.19 mph. He then backed it up with another world record on the following pass, going 9.706 @ 140.2 mph, at a density altitude of 432’ above sea level. Teddy drove his car to and from the track each day, and made a total of twelve nine second passes in a row this weekend at the Cadillac Attack event in Orlando, with the whole world watching.

These are great advancements for the community, and those who weren’t familiar with the platform in the past have certainly started to take notice. From a seemingly unassuming twin turbo V6 come times that make V8 guys start to wonder what they’re doing with all the extra displacement when they could be getting better results with less!

It just goes to show that when the community works together we can make strides in the ATS-V platform and push it further than anyone ever imagined. We don’t plan to slow down anytime soon so be on the lookout for new records to be set over and over again.

Tapout now has three ATS-Vs in the nines, with more coming soon. Who wants to be next?

Tapout Tune of the Week!

Whether your ATS-V has an A8 or M6 transmission, you’re going to have a fun time driving it. However many A8 owners have been plagued with difficulties and unfavorable shifting qualities that significantly detract from those good times. Worry not however, as we have a solution for that very problem.

Jason in Florida had those same issues in his A8 ATS-V and something had to be done about it. He came to us wanting that problem to be resolved and we were on the job to get those shifts clean and crisp. Needless to say, after we completed Jason’s Remote Tune he fell in love with his ATS-V again. “Scott and team were very responsive and I couldn’t be happier”. And it gets better as he went on to say, “the best part is my toddler and wife approve and love it!” That’s what it’s all about right there. Having a car the whole family can enjoy together is something you just can put a price on.
