In today’s automotive world, technology seems to be improving at a seemingly unstoppable rate. Specifically, Cadillac Blackwings function via a myriad of electronic modules and an extraordinarily complex ECM that’s lightyears ahead of where we were just five years ago. Gone are the days of getting one of your buddies to lend you a hand with something like bleeding your brakes out in the driveway.

Fortunately, our knowledge of Blackwings allows us to navigate those complex issues and provide solutions many can’t. One particular example is a repeat customer of ours who wanted to flush his brake system so he could use his preferred brake fluid for an upcoming track day. We have the brake by wire specific tools and know how to get this job done, and we were happy to get this customer back out on the road asap!

This customer shipped his CT5-V Blackwing A10 to us all the way from Connecticut eager to make some serious power and release the glorious sound that is an LT4 with headers. He opted for our GPI camshaft package which is just the ticket to achieve what he was looking for.

After completing installation of the cam package, headers, Kong ported supercharger, smaller upper pulley and throttle body, we got to work on the dyno tuning. After it was all said and done, this CT5-V Blackwing put down an impressive 767 whp on a 93-octane pump gas tune! We can assure you this is going to be one of the meanest beasts in the cul-de-sac. Keep your own ride in the garage because this monster is ready to eat them for lunch.

In many aspects of life things are not always what they seem. It’s no different when it comes to ATS-Vs. Recently, we had an ATS-V in the shop that kept killing the battery and the customer diagnosed that the alternator had failed.

An annoyance no doubt, but upon further inspection we found there was more to the story. As it turned out, the alternator was in fact providing the necessary charge to the battery. However, these cars have the battery in the trunk and therefore need to send power all the way to the engine bay. For additional safeguarding in the process, there is a fuse block atop the battery of which there is  a 350A mega fuse. We found this fuse had blown, so the connection of power between the battery and charging system had failed.

We replaced the 350A mega fuse and this ATS-V began properly charging the battery properly once again. It just goes to show, there can always be more to the story!

Steve from Texas recently dropped off his wicked cool blue M6 CT4-V Blackwing for our Blue Belt Package so he could get the power and sound he knew this car needed. He also wanted to spruce the appearance up with some carbon fiber parts he wasn’t able to get from Cadillac including a carbon fiber front splitter, rear spoiler,  airbox lid, and engine cover.

This customer had us install our Tapout Tuning Module (TTM) so he could get the most bang for his buck. Once that was installed in addition to his other Blue Belt parts, we created a custom dyno tune for him, producing five different power levels that can be switched in seconds using the no-charge cell phone app. The power ranges from 440 whp all the way up to 527 whp which is more than 100 whp over stock!
