This year the Tapout Tuning Crew attended the PRI show in Indianapolis with the goal of finding more ways to continually advance the LF4 platform. Our time there proved very productive and we’re thrilled about the relationships that we formed in that time.

We can promise you that there are a lot of exciting things coming for this platform as we continue to push ATS-Vs further than anyone ever thought possible. In the coming months we will be having some huge announcements that we know you’re going to want to hear! We can’t give away too much yet, but rest assured, there are big things coming!

Remote Tuning Using Just your Cell Phone!

We are very excited to announce that we are now offering a remote tuning solution that doesn’t require a laptop! That’s right, you can now data log, and/or change tunes at the track or the street using just your smart phone.

Our new Tapout Tuning RTD Module plugs into your OBD2 port just the same way a standard HP Tuners unit does. You just need to download the free Tune Delivery Network (TDN) app on your smartphone and set up an account. What’s even better is that the RTD supports VCM Scanner so you can still do scans, logs and even check for DTCs on your laptop.

That’s the kind of flexibility that allows you to change tunes at a moment’s notice if you left the house without a laptop and even helps you save a little weight at the track!

Another White Belt Package Install for the Win!

At the Tapout Tuning Headquarters we do it all. Whether you’re just looking for a tune or want to go buck-wild on your ATS-V with upgraded turbos, we’ve got the expertise to get it done right. Either way, you know that when your ATS-V leaves our shop it’s going to be performing at its best.

Robert from Florida stopped in for our White Belt Package and an in-house dyno tune so he could add a little more spice to his ATS-V. This package includes two of the most important items in ensuring your ATS-V is running properly; our Intercooler Fill/Bleed Kit, and colder spark plugs. After completing the installation of those parts, we strapped Robert’s car to the dyno where it made 512 whp using SAE correction factor. Those are some impressive gains from the 425 whp an ATS-V makes in stock form!

Always Improving!

One of the most important aspects of ensuring your ATS-V is healthy is making sure you have a properly functioning intercooler. If it’s not, your ATS-V will takes measures into its own hands to protect itself. That can certainly be a bummer when you’re out trying to do some spirited driving.

Erick from California had a competitive tune and his ATS-V kept going into Reduced Engine Power mode, forcing him to pull off the road. He brought his car to us and as it turned out, he had a dead intercooler. After replacing that, as well as installing our Intercooler Fill/Bleed Kit and Brisk spark plugs, we strapped the car to our dyno for a custom tune. The final result was 30 additional whp from his previous tune, great drivability, and of course our extremely popular Blackwing Burble tune we added.

Tapout Dyno Tune of the Week!

Our Purple Belt Performance Package packs a powerful punch no matter how you look at it. The list of modifications included allows your ATS-V to run E85 which is what the LF4 really needs to make big power. In fact, having the ability to run E85 is the easiest way to help you ATS-V pick up nearly 100 whp, and with our Flex Fuel tune, there’s no measuring at the gas station required!

Recently, Charlie from Kentucky drove up to the Tapout Tuning Shop for us to install our Purple Belt Package so he could take advantage of those corn juice gains. After completing the installation of all the parts, we strapped Charlie’s ATS-V down to our dyno where it made 612 whp and 651 wtq! A few weeks later, Charlie tested his new combination at the drag strip where he ran 10.23 @ 133.7 mph. That is especially impressive since he was at 4,100 pounds full weight!

Mod for mod, Tapout Tunes outperform others, while keeping your engine as safe as possible.
