More Low Ten Second Purple Belts!

Congratulations to Glenn Woods who hit low tens at a multi-state grudge race over the weekend! His 2018 ATS-V is running our wildly popular Purple Belt Performance Package with ethanol fuel blends. Glenn ran a best of 10.12 @ 133.5 mph, with basic mods. Day in and day out, Tapout tunes deliver maximum performance without sacrificing drivability and/or reliability.

59 ATS-Vs have now run tens or better in the quarter mile. Tapout tunes powered 29 of these, compared to 15 for the second place tuner. It’s a similar story for ATS-Vs running in the nines. Caddy Issues Turbos Perform

Chris from North Carolina dropped his ATS-V off at our shop for installation of our Purple Belt Performance Package, plus Turbobay turbochargers and our Stage 2 valve springs, retainers, and camshafts. After installation and dyno tuning, peak numbers were 638 whp and 626 wtq using SAE correction factor. Most people would be satisfied with these numbers, but not Chris. He asked what we could do to get his numbers into the stratosphere above 700 whp. We recommended Caddy Issues turbochargers and he gave us the green light. So we swapped turbos and strapped the car back to the dyno. The car never even left our shop. With the same tank of E60 fuel, the same WGDC and on the same dyno, Chris’ ATS-V picked up 100 whp in the meat of the powerband at 5,500 rpm!

There is a big difference in the level of engineering and component quality here at Tapout. This is why we hold more dyno horsepower, quarter-mile, eighth-mile and 60 to 130 mph records than all our competitors combined. The facts don’t lie.

He put all my concerns to ease and walked me through everything, step by step. The end result was and is great”. Manny on the Dyno and the Track!

Manny was the very first to get his ATS-V into the nines on stock turbos with our Purple Belt Performance Package. An impressive feat no doubt, however, he wasn’t satisfied and knew there was more power to be had.

He shipped us his ATS-V so we could install our Stage 2 valve springs, titanium retainers and camshafts. After completing his custom dyno tune, his ATS-V made 635 whp and 668 wtq using SAE correction factor. Even more impressive, the powerband produced greater than 600 whp and/or wtq all the way from 4,100 to 6,700 rpm! And to the put the cherry on top, a few days later Manny went out and set a new personal best of 9.81 at 138 mph. Way to go Manny!

Tapout Stage 2 Cams and Springs!

We continue to get ATS-Vs shipped to us from all across the country, and it’s the perfect time as the cold weather limits the amount of time we can get out onto the road and the track.

This particular customer’s car was sent to us from Texas for our Purple Belt Package and Tapout Stage 2 Cams and Springs. We originally designed these cams to be used in conjunction with our much more powerful Caddy Issues turbos, however, with stock turbos they still produce an excellent powerband and sounds incredible! Notice how this car makes 575 plus whp all the way form 5,000 to 6,700 rpm. For sure it’s one of the scariest cars we have ever driven!

After installation and tuning, this customer then proceeded to drive all the way back to Texas with no issues. That’s because Tapout knows just how to tune an ATS-V for maximum performance without sacrificing reliability!
