I recently purchased a used modified ATS-V and reached out to several tuning companies to try and find out more information about what was done to the car. Scott with Tapout Tuning responded quickly to my email and as it turned out his shop had done substantial work to the car for a previous owner. Scott sent me a comprehensive email with all relevant information of what was done to the car along with dyno charts. Once I had purchased the car Scott took his time to tell me about what he recommended be done since it had been several years since he had seen the car and spent quite a bit of time making sure the tune was good on the car and advising any work that should be done to make sure the car was making safe power. Throughout the whole process they were extremely responsive to email and would always quickly ship out parts that I needed. Needless to say Scott and his team went out of their way to help me and made my new car run fantastic and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for any work to be done!

Scott did an amazing job tuning my CT4-V Blackwing. I appreciate his iterative process of tuning the car. Start with small gains and works his way up, making sure the car is happy with what has been done. He also did a very good job of keeping me informed of what he was changing and why. After the final dyno pull, they took me on a test drive to ensure the car was happy out on the road during hard pulls. To say the least, it was impressive. Once the tune and test drive was done, I drove the car 400 miles home and managed 26 mpg. I highly recommend their services.

I got cocky and tried to pull into a friend’s driveway about 1 month ago and ended up with a boo-boo lip. While I have a friend that might be able to repair it, I figured it doesn’t hurt to have a spare.

I ordered the new lip from Tapout and paid a little extra for faster shipping. Keep in mind, the size of the box and how it comes is what makes shipping pricey. It arrived sooner than expected. The lip was well-protected and packed nicely. I also ordered new clips because I am pretty terrible at taking clips out. Tapout included some stickers and an Airhead. Hindsight, I could have likely gone with standard shipping since it took me until now to free up the time to install it.
The lip appears to be sturdier than OE and the finish is beautiful. For the price, I am quite pleased with the quality. The clips are black instead of OE white, but I think I like that better. You can’t see them, but I like knowing that they’re black.

You will need a long reach, low profile jack. Jack stands require the pinchweld pucks. The Camaro version of the lift points will not fit if you have side skirts. I used the Potauto ones suggested across the threads and forums.

Tapout provides installation instructions on their site. They’re pretty detailed and relatively easy to follow. You have to remove all three undercarriage panels and, on mine, the flares attached to the undercarriage side panels. My only gripe is with the number of T15 fasteners. There are approximately eleventy billion of them. Also, my BW had 14 fasteners per side panel instead of 11 as listed in the instructions.

I broke 1 clip out of 6, so I’m glad I bought the extras. I was a little concerned at the fitment at first. The driver’s side didnt look snug and had some gaps. But once every part of it was installed and tightenedd (including the undercarriage panels), it tightened up nicely.

There’s a bit of a gap against the side flares, but I also think there’s some clips that meed to be transferred from the OE lip. I ran out of daylight and patience.

It took me approximately 2.5 hours, but I had to answer some phone calls and text messages and emails. Also, I highly recommend an electric scewdriver because of the eleventy billion T15 fasteners. I managed to make it work with hand tools.

Overall 9/10. I’ll likely update it once I have the ends snugged

My ‘16 ATS-V has been in Tapout’s very capable hands twice now. The second round of mods/tuning resulted in 634 whp. Scott and crew are great to work with and recently my wife and I attended a car show/cruise in with our V. Part of the festivities is hitting the cruise strip at night where impromptu stoplight matchups occur regularly. We participated in many of these with matchups against everything from old muscle cars to the newest muscle cars. Some were running drag radials. We were on Nitto 555 street tires and we never lost a matchup. The car ran flawlessly all night and earned the respect of many that we ran against. We absolutely love the V and look forward to more fun with it this summer! Many thanks to Scott and everyone at Tapout. 🙂

Absolutely amazing experience. Scott and the whole team were very professional and explained every part of the process. Communication was superb and they answered all of my questions very promptly. The Blackwing runs better than ever and feels like a completely different vehicle. They are the LF4, LT4 specialists and can back up their performance gain claims with hard data. I easily got a 100 hp boost to the wheels after their blue belt performance package. My only regret is that I didn’t go to them sooner!
