Our friend Jason from Illinois was running a competitor’s ‘ten second package and tune’ before switching over to Tapout. His ATS-V produced a respectable 598 whp at that time, but there were some drivability issues he wasn’t happy with. After working with us, we resolved those issues and made the car a lot more fun to drive.

Several months later Jason made the trip to the Tapout Tuning Headquarters so we could strap his ATS-V to our in-house Dynojet to try and make even more power. After a few pulls and tune adjustments his final numbers were 613 whp and 640 wtq! That makes for a seriously fun daily driver which is not only incredibly powerful, but also reliable enough to drive every day without a worry.

When you specialize in a unique platform you really get things down to a science. We know all the intricacies, quirks, and special features of the LF4 so well that we could work on them with our eyes closed (but don’t worry, we don’t!).

Our 2022 CT4-V Blackwing on the Dyno!

After taking delivery of our 2022 CT4-V Blackwing a few days ago we’ve put nearly 1,000 miles on the odometer and that means it’s time to strap it to the dyno.

We did three baseline pulls and peak power ranged from 421 to 429 whp. The median numbers were 425 whp and 462 wtq, nearly identical to what we expect from a completely stock ATS-V with an automatic transmission.

We will be diligently working to see what kind of potential we can unlock on this Blackwing. There will be challenges ahead no doubt, but we are committed to this platform. When the ATS-V first came out, no one knew if they could get into the 10s in the quarter mile, let alone the 9s, but we made that happen! Taking it step by step we know there are gains to be found here, so stay tuned.

Our New 2022 CT4-V Blackwing has Arrived!

A moment we’ve been waiting so long for has finally arrived. This afternoon we took delivery of our brand new serial # 026 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing in Electric Blue!!

We are so stoked to put this car through its paces, so it’s really going to be difficult waiting out the 500 mile break in period. But you know as soon as we have those miles down we’ll be strapping the Blackwing to our dyno to see what kind of power it really makes.

We have every intention to one day offer tuning for this car because we know GM and we know they left power on the table. While the styling is all new, it’s the same twin turbo V6 LF4 powerplant that we’ve all come to know and love. That means there’s more power to be made and better performance to be delivered. #StayTuned because we’re going to have a lot more exciting news to share as we really get to know the new Blackwing!
