Tapout Remote Tune of the Week!

Our work continues with our friends at Exodus Performance in Austin, Texas as we dish out another Remote Tune with the assistance of their incredible team. This was a quicker job, with the only mods being colder spark plugs and downpipes. Even so, Ronnie’s M6 ATS-V (#savethemanuals) still put down a killer 495 whp and 499 wtq with a glorious powerband.

Being able to push these ATS-Vs to their potential never gets old and we’ll be happy to work with Ronnie again if he wants to continue to add more mods! After all, as Carroll Shelby said, “there is never enough horsepower… just not enough traction”.

JB4 Tuner for the Win!

You’ve been asking for more affordable options for our CT4-V Blackwing tuning, so we recently tested the JB4 tuner on a 2022 CT4-V Blackwing M6. We carefully and methodically experimented with all the various calibration maps and custom fuel bias settings to find the sweet spot on these cars. We’re happy to report that this product works, and works very well!

Four baseline dyno pulls varied from 399 to 407 whp. After the installation of the JB4 and our custom map, final numbers were 490 whp, for an impressive 83 whp boost in power! These are huge gains for a car with zero mods. However, due to the increased boost, we would recommend changing out your stock spark plugs for colder plugs with smaller gaps. And just as important as that, is to make sure that they are installed with plenty of dielectric grease in the coil boot ends.

The boost curve and powerband were very smooth and broad with the JB4 tuner. Fueling was identical to stock and there was zero electronic throttle closure and no codes were set in the several hours of dyno testing we completed. We’ve continued to work with JB4 on refining this product and have updated our White and Blue Belt Packages to include the JB4 instead of the DCM which has substantially lowered the package cost. Even Better Stage 2 LPFP!

In our continual effort to develop and support the absolute best products possible, we’ve joined forces with OG Fuel Solutions once again to provide a new and improved LPFP for the LF4 platform. That being said, we are proud to now offer the GM Frankenpump Stage 2 LPFP!

Designed to provide the highest flowing single in-tank pump on the market (400+lph @70 psi), it’s compatible with gasoline, race gas, and ethanol blends up to E99 as well as race gas/ethanol blends. Another benefit is that it retains a fuel basket so you can ensure you always have fuel at the inlet of the pump during hard acceleration and cornering unlike bucketless setups. This is a complete drop in system so there’s no extra wiring or hoses to install which makes swapping out your old unit a breeze.

Even better still, this pump is designed to work with your in-tank venturis so you won’t lose any fuel capacity if you’re running a saddle tank. We’re recommending this pump for all Brown Belt Packages, and it certainly doesn’t hurt if you’d like to have a little more buffer room with your fuel system capabilities on your Purple Belt Package too!

Is there anything more exciting than upgrading your turbos? We can’t really think of anything, and that seems to be the consensus throughout the ATS-V community as well! Why just jump up 100 whp when you go from pump gas to E85, when you can bump things up 250 whp or more with some genuine Caddy Issues turbos as the twin cherries on top!

Craig shipped us his M6 ATS-V sedan from New Jersey for our Complete Brown Belt Package because he likes a new upgraded set of turbos just as much as we do. After nine pulls on our Dyno the car produced peak power of 683 whp and 659 wtq. This ATS-V made a bit less power than we usually see with the powerhouse Caddy Issues turbos because Craig still runs catted downpipes. Regardless, he had no trouble breaking into the list of top 25 most powerful ATS-Vs ever!
