Walking Away from Full Race Prepped Vipers and More!

For quite some time we’ve been working with Tom and his custom built composite body NP01-EVO in which he has installed a 2016 LF4 engine. He’s currently running our Gigs throttle Body, Tapout Stage 2 cams, springs and retainers, and Caddy Issues Turbos.

He races in NASA’s fastest class, called Super Unlimited, and when we tell you they don’t mess around, we mean it! After tuning, his car is producing 600 horsepower on 93-octane pump gas with 18 pounds of boost. All this wrapped up in a car that only weight 2,068 pounds dry, plus driver and fluids.

Check out the video of Tom’s first lap at VIR race, getting in some seat time and working through various issues, such as splitter shudder above 157 mph. We told you he does not mess around! His car sounds absolutely incredible, and as you can see in the video, no one can keep up with him. The other driver’s may as well have been sitting still!

We can’t wait to collaborate with Tom on this further as he works through the kinks and continues to add more modifications. This car RIPS, and if you every find yourself on the track with Tom, you better get used to seeing taillights.

Another Set of Caddy Issues Turbos Putting Down the Power!

Our Caddy Issues turbos just keep flying off the shelves, and it’s no wonder when you see the incredible gains they provide on the dyno, track, and street! Their quality and drivability make this upgrade a no brainer if you’re looking to really turn things up on your own ATS-V.

Our friend Jorge already had a powerful ATS-V with 619 whp. However, he was looking for more so he recently added Caddy Issues turbos and Mace Stage 1 cams and picked up more than 100 whp! These aren’t even turned up all the way yet, since he’s still running OEM head bolts. Jorge has been with the platform for a long time and was one of the first one to hit tens with stock turbos more than three years ago. We’ve come a long way since then, so we can’t wait to see what he’s able to do with these new mods!

Cadillac V-Racing Top Gun Invitational 2022!

This year’s Cadillac V-Racing Top Gun Invitational was a huge success and we want to extend a HUGE thank you to Mike Franks of the Cadillac V-Club for organizing this truly first class event. The Cadillac community is extremely lucky to have someone like him showing this kind of support!

We’re proud to be a major sponsor of this event and we would like to thank all of the sponsors because without them it would not be possible! We would also like to thank the companies in attendance supporting the LF4 community as they continually help to push this platform forward.

For those ATS-Vs in attendance, it was wins all day! The Schmidty tuned ATS-V and V-Sport ran consistent times through the afternoon, Exodus Performance’s Purple Belt ATS-V they built got into the nines on it’s first outing and multiple Tapout ATS-Vs set personal bests!

There were eight Tapout tuned cars in attendance, five of which set personal bests and/or world records. The other three were within 0.05 seconds of their personal bests! Here are some of the highlights from the Tapout team members in attendance:

• Bob C. ran low nines consistently and set the new World Record for the ATS-V 60 foot of 1.294 and new World Record for the quarter mile of 9.351 @ 142.32 mph! His car was losing belts due to a bad pulley bearing in his last runs so we didn’t get to make complete pass using the nitrous oxide, but stay tuned for more exciting things to come from this car!
• Heather S. made her way back into the nines running 9.98 @ 126 mph while getting on the brakes HARD trying not to break out against the 10.00 index. She broke out of course, but it’s hard to be upset running nines in her Purple Belt ATS-V! She was also runner up in the Tapout Tuning V6 Daily Driver Class.
• Jason W. ran 9.996 @ 136.17 mph at full weight on his first pass of the day and this was his very first time driving his car at the track! He also went on to claim the runner up position in the Tapout Tuning V6 Pro Street Class and won the Tapout Tuning V6 Daily Driver Class!
• Scott C. continued working on tuning refinements on our new CT4-V Blackwing and set a new World Record of 11.108 @ 127.21 mph! Current mods are somewhere between our soon to be released Blue and Purple Belt Performance Packages. All details will be released as soon as we finalize a couple more items.
• Spencer B. ran a best time of 10.946 @ 125.59 mph and is continuing to improve his launch technique!
• Jon S. beat his previous personal best of 10.785 running 10.603 @ 131.39 mph!
• Teddy K. made improvements to his ETA throughout the day running a best of 9.42 and winning the Tapout Tuning V6 Pro Street Class!
• Michael F. ran 10.61, which is within 0.01 second of his best ever time!

It was an incredible weekend of racing and we’re always thrilled to be able to sponsor events like this that help to bring the community together and push the platform forward! We’re looking forward to more events and a summer full of wins for the LF4 platform. Stay tuned because we promise you there’s a lot more excitement coming soon!

CT4 V Blackwing Tuning Package Development Continues

We just wanted to give you a little taste of what we’ve been doing with our CT4-V Blackwing…..

100% OEM drivability aspects have been maintained below 3,500 rpm. Above 70 to 80% accelerator pedal position, things are starting to get ridiculously FUN!

At WOT in Track mode, the A10 cars upshift between 6,400 and 6,500 rpm, so you’re always running between 4,700 and 6,500 rpm. We have significantly modified the powerband between 4,000 and 6,500 rpm to cover both the A10 and M6 cars.

Tuning is nearly complete. We just have a few more details left to resolve. All details of our CT4-V Blackwing Performance Packages will be announced in the near future.

Great Teams Produce Great Results!

We want to extend congratulations to Trifecta Performance, Schmidty Tuning and the Tapout Tuning teams for sending cars to the Cadillac Attack race in Florida. The event and track were both great, and it is our understanding that all ATS-V owners in attendance set personal bests! We were glad to see everyone come together in the community to help each other out, have fun, and get some great racing in over the three days!

Here is a list of some of the highlights from Tapout team members in attendance:

• Paul B. worked hard on launching and No Lift Shifting his ATS-V M6. He got personal best 60’ and quarter mile times. But his clutch was slipping by the next morning. No worries though. We’ll have a SPEC Stage 3 clutch out the door for him on Monday.

• Scott C. worked on testing an early iteration of our forthcoming CT4-V Blackwing tuning. Took some experimentation to figure out the best launch method. Quarter mile times improved each day. Best pass was 11.25 @ 124.1 mph, and we are proud to set the bar with this new record.

• Michael W. runs downpipes and 93 octane fuel, and that got him into the tens with a 10.94 @ 122.9 mph. He also won the Trifecta sponsored ATS-V bracket race.

• Brian C. is the reaction time king, and he nailed a .008 in the bracket race with his Purple Belt car.

• Kyle E. runs intake, exhaust, and octane boost. He set a new personal best time of 10.50 @ 129.0 mph before having one of his fuel injectors stick open. We loaned him a trailer and he was able to get the car home safely.

• Danny E. has one of the coolest wraps we have ever seen on his Purple Belt ATS-V. He set a new personal best of 10.30 @ 132.4 mph.

• Jason T. runs minimal mods of intake, downpipes and race fuel. He won the 10.00 Equalizer Index race on Friday, and then the King of the Hill race on Saturday. Best time for Jason was 10.12 @ 134.0 mph.

• Glenn W. is running our Purple Belt Performance Package and got runner up in both the Trifecta sponsored ATS-V bracket race, and the Tapout sponsored ATS-V All Out class. His best time was 9.97 @ 134.9 mph, with sand bags added to his trunk to get him into the full weight division.

• Heather S. is running our Purple Belt Performance Package, and finally got into the nines! She also placed third in the Equalized 10.00 index class. Best time of the event was 9.95 @ 136.4 mph.

• Paul B. is running our Purple Belt Performance Package, and recently added the new Tapout carbon fiber intake system. He beat all of his personal records on Thursday, Friday, then again on Saturday. He ran a best of 9.97 @ 135.3 mph with 30 pounds of weight added to his trunk, shooting for the ATS-V full weight record. After that achievement, Paul did some basic weight reduction and went 9.88 @ 136.3 mph.

• Ted K. won the Tapout Tuning sponsored ATS-V All Out race, and set a new personal best time of 9.39 @ 143.1 mph. He also set a new all-time low short time with a 1.308 60’ only four minutes later, when the car was heat-soaked from hot lapping. And what a wheelie that was!

• Bob C., Jorge M. and Michael D. all busted their butts, working 16 to 18 hour days for a solid week in preparation for this event. Then they continued working tirelessly in the pits and at the starting line throughout the race. Tires were swapped, spark plugs changed and even a fuel cam was installed. Tons of coaching took place, covering proper burnout and launch technique. Dozens of data scans were reviewed on site and all Tapout team member tunes were optimized on the spot. We absolutely cannot thank this crew enough for all they do for the ATS-V community!

• And wow, Jason T’s wife Erin and Robbie K. definitely know what to do with a grill!
Nine additional Tapout team members between 700 and 800 whp weren’t able to make it to this race for various reasons (i.e. COVID, new baby, work hours, border restrictions, undiagnosed U codes, transmission failure, trailer too small, etc.). We’re hoping to have Bob C., Robbie K., Scott C., Corey H., The Justins, Ron H., Chris C., Chris T. and David H. join us at other events in the future.

We look forward to seeing everyone from all the various tuning camps at our next major outing. This will be the world class Cadillac V-Racing Invitational coming up in four weeks. This year’s Cadillac Attack has really shown us just how capable these ATS-Vs really are, and we know there’s even better things coming, so stay tuned!
