Myron from Maryland just picked up a very rare 2019 ATS-V coupe in velocity red with low mileage. He drove it directly to Tapout Tuning with the temporary tags still in place and requested our most popular Purple Belt Performance Package.

It takes a special touch to really dial these ATS-Vs in safely while still producing excellent power, and that’s evident in Myron’s new 610 whp dyno chart. By the way, ported throttle bodies were on national backorder at the time, so he’ll be adding that piece of the puzzle later. These engines just love ethanol and it’s worth nearly 100 whp over pump gas. If that’s not encouragement enough to run the corn, then we don’t know what is!

“Excellent trans tune that transformed my ‘17 A8 purple belt with stage 1 cams + springs. Noticeably less lag and power drop during shifts. The car is grabbing the next gear with authority compared to the stock calibration. Tour mode after the tune now feels similar to track mode before the tune. The transmission definitely feels more sporty, snappy and responsive. Revving out to 7000+ rpm now is a great feeling as well. Automatic upshifting while being in manual mode is also a very nice touch.”

Our good friend Brian drove in from Florida for a Tapout carbon fiber cold air intake, LPFP upgrade and custom dyno tune. He has been running our Purple Belt Performance Package for two and a half years and wanted to maximize his performance. After all, Brian has one of the coolest looking ATS-Vs on the road, so he wanted more power to match those badass looks.

Final results after strapping his ATS-V to our dyno were 616 peak whp and 655 wtq using SAE correction on E68 fuel. This is mighty impressive for a car that now has 158,000 miles on the odometer. However, we were seeing some valve float above 5,700 rpm. Next mods we recommend for this car will be Mace Stage 1 valve springs and titanium retainers. Once he gets that done, Brian will really be, Runnin’ with the Devil.
