When I initially decided to purchase downpipes I did a lot of research on the various options that were on the market for the LF4. I quickly found that the Tapout Tuning set along with the tune was highly praised, respected and recommended by many other ATS-V owners. This made my decision easy, so I purchased the set along with the Intercooler Fill/Bleed, RR12S Spark Plugs and Remote Tune package.
As soon as i confirmed my order, Scott Cook immediately reached out to me regarding next steps and what to expect. He did an excellent job of explaining the process as well as answering the many questions I had. After receiving the products within one week of ordering, I installed everything and began the remote tuning process. Scott and his team made me feel as if I were their only customer because of how responsive and supportive they were (clearly I was not their only customer).
The V has never felt more alive or sounded better. Everywhere I go, people ask about the setup because they are genuinely impressed with the sound and performance. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase or the service I received. Tapout Tuning is a very respectable company/brand and I will gladly purchase products from them in the future. 10/10 would recommend. Not to mention, the car holds it own in Mexico… I cant say it enough, Thank you!
Amazing tune and EVEN BETTER CUSTOMER SUPPORT! I’ve had several cars tuned and Scott replied to every question and log extremely quick. My past experiences have been a couple replies a day, if I’m lucky. One time it took two days just to get the first couple logs swapped between emails with a remote tune done with another company. That was two days of my car sitting… I was blown away by Scott’s commitment to his customers and the ease of conversation. He didn’t make me feel stupid once, which is always nice when you care about your car and are just ensuring things are right.
I’ll be going through Tapout for anything and all things else for my ATS-V. I recommend Tapout to all ATS-V owners looking to get a quality job and want to skip the hassle of inexperience.
I have waited a bit to write my review to ensure the newness and general excitement weren’t overdriving my response. That said, my amazing experience with Scott and Tapout started with my call to sales, Michael specifically. Great conversation with a knowledgeable individual who walked me through the proper selection of and implementation of my tune package. My vehicle is stock and as such a relatively vanilla process. My kit was delivered quickly and as expected. I immediately went to work to get the tuning process started….midday on a Friday. I went through the standard process and exchanged a few emails with Scott as he evaluated the status of my vehicle and made necessary updates. My second evaluation was sent to Scott around 5pm on Friday and found out that, as many others, my IC was not working correctly. Tapout IC bleed kit to the rescue – sort of….my buddy dropped one of the bleed valves into the engine bay never to be seen again. After spending an hour fabricating (grinding wheel, brass screw from HD and vice-grips) we were able to replace the missing screw and continue the bleed. Final pull sent to Scott at just past midnight on Friday. Scott replied at 8AM ET on Saturday with the update and confirmation that we were successful. Final communication with Scott at 3pm Saturday as I confirmed the car was running great. The car pulls hard and is much quicker than before. I am very pleased with the performance improvement based on my last 2.5 mo of driving. That is not what has made me a loyal customer to Tapout – Scott and his team are here to support his customers and there is nothing more important to me as a consumer in this world of similar products than knowing the team is behind their product and me!
Today I joined the Purple Belt gang. If anyone is on the fence about this package, just do it!! On the test drive, I couldn’t stop laughing. I was in disbelief that my V could be so quick and pull so damn hard… Really nice meeting Scott and Jorge too. It’s evident that each of them have a passion for this platform, which is why I believe they’ve made so much progress in the last 12 months. Happy to give them my business. Car finished at 613/625 on E52.
