Caring for your A8 Transmission!

Does your ATS-V have an automatic transmission? If so you’ve probably heard about or experienced the transmission shudder.

In most cases this can be solved by completing a transmission flush. There are a few important items to take note of when doing this:

  1. Use Dexron – HP Fluid. This is Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP transmission fluid, GM part # 19417577. It has a blue colored label. DO NOT use the black bottles or grey labeled HP fluids.
  2. To complete the flush it requires 20 quarts of the above fluid to completely cleanse the system.
  3. Overfill the transmission by one quart.

Once you have completed these items you should be shudder free and can be on your way burnin rubber and making all your friends jealous of the kick-ass, smooth running and quick as a whip Cadillac you drive. Of course it wouldn’t hurt to get a Tapout Tune while you’re at it ????

Upgrade your ATS-V Oil Filter!

Tapout Tuning is now offering GM’s new and improved replacement oil filters for the HF V6 engines. These oil filters have been upgraded to feature a thicker outer shell that provides increased strength to support the high output LF4.

As you know the LF4 pumps out some serious power, especially when it’s Tapout Tuned. So make sure it’s protected!

ATS-V Upgraded Oil Filter

Congratulations to Ron Haspel!

Ron switched to Tapout and knocked half a second off his quarter mile time. Last night he ran 10.78 @ 126.6 mph, climbing into the top ten in the Official Quarter Mile Rankings. Density altitude was 1,550′ so look for an even quicker time once the cooler weather is here.
