Tapout Tuning Sets the World Record Quarter Mile Time!

We are extremely excited to announce that Tapout Tuning Team Member Cal Smith has set a new world record quarter mile time of 9.92 @ 137.2 mph! That’s right we are in the NINES folks, and this is a VERY big deal.

This was a total team effort and could not have been done without the hard work and determination of the Tapout Team Members that shed blood, sweat and tears to make this happen. The Tapout Tuning facility has been working overtime to get cars from all across the country to a level never before seen on the LF4 platform, and the effort did not disappoint.

We have some big news to share in the coming days and weeks and we couldn’t be more thrilled with what’s next for the ATS-V community. Regardless of what parts you run or who tunes your car, when properly engineered products are developed, tunes are perfected and records are set. Everyone in the entire LF4 community benefits and this platform keeps moving forward.

It’s not uncommon for us to work with customers who have had many tuned cars in their past, or even had their ATS-V tuned by one of our competitors. We always enjoy this because we like to get another perspective on our work and see how we compare.

Lee in Tallahassee was certainly not new to tuning as his ATS-V was already tuned by one of our competitors. He thought we stood out from others he’d worked with before and likes the way we operate. “The difference is Scott really takes each car he tunes personal. He dedicates time toward getting a particular car dialed in. He’s not tuning 100 cars, he’s tuning ‘your’ car”.

Upon our first scan of Lee’s competitive tune he already had in his ATS-V, we found some issues that concerned us. We walked him through the changes we made to remedy these problems so he understood why those corrections were so important to the health and longevity of his ATS-V. We’re always going to take the extra time to ensure your ATS-V is operating at its highest and healthiest possible level. That’s what you and your ATS-V deserve!
